Cyberbullying

Cyberbullying is being cruel to others by sending or posting harmful material using a cell phone or the internet. It should not be accepted in society and is a way to put others down and hurt their feelings greatly.

Some examples of cyberbullying would be sending insulting text messages that can put a person down, or being sent photoshopped pictures of yourself in someone else's body that you might find offensive and degrading. One of the most common cyberbullying methods nowadays is posting derogatory comments about other people on social networking sites. Since many people have social networking sites most people tend to cyberbully on their then at any other place.

Cyberbullying can have a major affect on people and can even lead to suicide in some extreme cases. As stated by the article, "Girl's Suicide Points to Rise in Apps Used by Cyberbullies", Rebecca Ann Sedwick, a 12 year old girl was cyberbullyed and it resulted in her taking her own life. Rebecca was "absolutely terrorized on social media" was what people said when asked about the situation. This goes to show you how much of an affect cyberbullying can have on people and can result in some horrific endings.

  2. Cyberbullying does have major effects on people like suicide, but it does not have a reasonable solution. People believe that school children should be monitored on what they do online whether it be on or off school grounds. You should read the article on schools and cyberbullying. It was pretty interesting.

  3. Yeah cyberbullying can lead to fatal effects, however there is no solution to it yet and perhaps there isn't going to be one in the future. This is just a sad reality.
